On July 15, 1986, Mark Patterson started his  career as a police officer in the 71 precinct .He moved on to the Anti-Crime Unit, and then to Narcotics in 1992. In May 1994 he was promoted to detective . Detective Patterson continued forward as he was promoted to  second grade in June of 1997. He Worked in the Police Department Press Office, February 1995 to July 1998. He was  appointed assistant commissioner of public information for the New York City Department Of Transportation in July 1998,Intelligence Division November 2001,to where he finished his 20 year career in  police commissioners office.   Mark Patterson started his  coaching career in 1985 with the Bonnie boys club. where he won 2 championships. In 1994 Detective Patterson  started his coaching  with the New York Finest baseball Club.  Detective Mark Patterson was the General Manager of the NY Finest Baseball Club until he retired in 2006. Mark Patterson was inducted into the New York Finest Hall Of Fame in 2004.
